Energy
The mission of the Energy Group of the Valley Futures Network is to reduce Valley energy consumption and increase local production of renewable energy with the end goal of reaching energy independence.
Initiatives
- Presented Button-Up home weatherization workshops in fall 2008 and again in 2009: 10/22 at the Moretown Town Hall and 11/23 at Yestermorrow.
- Through the Vermont Community Energy Mobilization (a pilot project of Efficiency Vermont), VFN energy group organized community volunteers to directly install low-cost energy-saving measures in residences and provide guidance to help residents further reduce their home energy costs.
- Established an Energy Wiki for the Valley, a website created and maintained by the community to serve as the go-to resource for all things related to energy in the Valley.
